I'm so excited, and nervous but mostly excited!
I get to showcase my work in a real life Art Showcase! The event is in March, either the 25th or 26th, that is TBD.
RAW is a super cool organization because it started out (and continues to be) by the artists for the artists, so it really focuses on the people and relationships. Its nice that the people organizing it have an idea of what it's like to be a growing small business!
I think this is super cool because its so much more different from other craft shows I've done in the fall and winter. I mean one, because it's an art show not a craft show. But, also because I think there's a connotation with yarn work (aka fiber art) being more kitschy and I guess common; less refined. Being accepted into this makes me feel recognized and seen.
I've had people come up to me at craft fairs making comments about how they didn't know knitting or crocheting could be anything you could sell. Or that they also do it but they don't make money from it. And that's totally valid! Making things for fun and friends is awesome. But I also put in a lot of work making patterns, and designing things that maybe I can't find in a store because my proportions are not "typical".
Back to RAW though - during this showcase I can sell my work, or just market and network, so I have a display planned that I think will be pretty cool - I'll give you a hint in the picture below...
P.S. This is my ad panel!
Anyhoo, I would love to see you in real life, and if you purchase tickets from the link above, you'll be entered into a raffle to win a bath set! You'll also get access to both days of the event, rather than just the one!
